Honestly, what are they thinking? Who wants to face their doom without a good scrub beforehand? I can't imagine it'd taste well.

Exactly.
Aren't the best offerings the ones you take time to carefully prepare so they're the best and most pure? Seems a little hard to do if things aren't clean.
