[ sometimes you're busy exploring all morning and end up with a hankering for a snack. it's tough work being an adventurer etc, etc. but whatever that's being served today is the least inspiring and by hawke's face, not even remotely palatable to her ye olde taste. ]
[honestly she's very much not impressed with the tastes here, but what choice do they have? unless they feel like risking fishing out of the stream...but she will come over with her own little snack to have a seat.]
You really know how to make it sound appetizing. [haha. but she gets it.] I think the cultists who came to talk to us yesterday said we could ask for some things. Think they'd be able to give us a couple of spices?
[hello hawke, this is a Bad Morning. aerith is here at the pyre and she seems to be looking at the posters. she's just...smokey? and very unhappy, given the way we really have no idea what the hell happened here.]
How did someone even have time to make these? [THIS ISN'T FUNNY, CULT.]
[today on the island, aerith seems to be walking through the rows of veggies at the ranch, mostly admiring the growth and thinking about maybe bringing some back to try and make up for the food at the refectory. she's probably ankle-deep in pumpkins when she looks up and sees someone familiar, immediately throwing her arm up in a wave.]
Good morning! [ari i do not know if she would have introduced herself to aerith as hawke please advise. regardless she looks pretty pleased.] Come look at how much has grown!
[ not to worry she is introducing herself to everyone as Hawke. sometimes you don't like your first name??
anyway. talk about being baffled at all of this being here while they've just been suffering the whole time? hateful. ]
You could have a feast with all of this and still have plenty left over. [ glances left. glances right ] And none of the residents are around to claim it either.
It's a little weird, right? I checked the neighborhood a little earlier, but it looks like nobody's home. And nobody's come by at all since I've been here. [so. animals doko??]
...it could be. [a few people have, in fact, suggested this is the case and she has hated it each time even though that seems likely.] A different ritual than ours, you think? Maybe that one didn't work.
[ dear maker above. everything is awful and hawke desperately wants a metal shield or something to hide behind because she's just bleating memories at full blast.
[well this is a very nice and cheerful turn of events on this lovely morning. aerith doesn't even get a chance to say hello before she's blasted by this memory, and it takes her a long moment to fully register what's happening.
it...hurts in its own way, remnant of emotions she's far too familiar with, but there's horror in seeing what this woman has become, in hearing what this man's tried to create. all in the name of science, is it? or magic. maybe there's no difference in how it's treated, but when the memory ends there's a small frown on her face as her eyebrows furrow together and she debates what to say.
what can you say...]
...I'm sorry. That shouldn't have been your last memory of her.
[ oh maker. being reminded of this moment in full ye olde 4kHD certain is something to handle first thing on a Monday. she knew she shouldn't of gotten out of bed today. perhaps there's still time to crawl underneath ]
If anything, I am grateful I at least got to say goodbye.
That's a nice way to look at it. [it's something she'd consider, too. even if someone you love was suffering, knowing they were still partially themselves is still a sense of closure.]
Had it been long at all since you saw her before that?
[at some point when the party winds down a little...she's still in the vineyard! sort of just glancing around at their set-up. she's still somewhat transparent on-sight but it doesn't look like she's going anywhere for a bit.]
Please tell me you've been staying out of trouble this week, at least. [hi.]

When in doubt there's usually some sort of magic involved.

[ she mutters something quietly about wishing merril was here before shaking her head and tilting towards her cabin ]
A good number of us were locked in the cabin....... Adventurine included.

There really were a lot of you there. [softly.] Was there anyone with you that left at all before the doors locked?
