I'm starting to become less and less shocked by how common this is for some of you. [are you guys okay? are your worlds okay?] Were you able to stop those ones...?
Maker, no. Some are simply in for the money and power. Some believe what they preach and want to convert everyone. Then there's the bit who'll deny to their dying breath they're not a cult entirely but honestly, they're not fooling anyone.
[ you know, normal ye olde nonsense ]
Lucky for me, most of them didn't operate within Kirkwall but you do often hear about it through the ports gossip chain. Like old maids, some of them.
Better to know about them than experience them firsthand without an idea. [just a mild thought.] But still...most of them still implies some of them are within Kirkwall.
The Qunari is technically considered its own religion but given how their methods range from 'you can join on your own' or 'we will simply take over your city and force you to comply or die' it's a little questionable.
You know...[just a thoughtful little pause.] Everything about this continues to sound a little concerning. But I can't say a compromise is a bad thing. As long as it's not actually doing more harm to yourself somehow?
Usually, by the time they're bellowing, it's far too late to do much else, quite honestly. More than likely I've already said something that's upset them enough to start casting fireballs.
[ hawke don't aggravate the bad guys challenge failed immediately ]
Though in the case of the Arishok, that was a direct challenge so even if I wished to quiver in my boots, it'd have to be done in front of an audience.
You'd probably like Barret, actually. [softly said, because...sometimes you miss your friends.]little too much, he's good for when things go wrong quickly.
Sounds like my kind of man. You're bound to always have some problems pop up no matter how much you plan for it. A quick thinker means we all won't die terribly before we've got the time to worry about it.
[watches half my tag disappear somehow help i think it was like "even if he's brash and he yells a little too much". either way she probably would yeah.]
Barret's pretty good at making sure we don't die, yeah. He's the leader of the team Cloud and Tifa started with, and since then we've kind of grown and split away from other people. Problems kinda follow you wherever you go, I think, so it's nice having someone who doesn't really trust things so easily. [this is painting such a weird picture of barret but she does mean this so positively.]
It helps, yeah. Even if half the time you're trying to convince them to stop being a bloody stick in the mud and get on with it. [ fondly ] Especially when you're in a place like Kirkwall where you can't trust easily or your body will simply be thrown off the docks at some point.
You get it! [yeah!!!!] Midgar's...not exactly the nicest place either, so I get it. And we have to be really careful while we're traveling now. But I think you can get them to loosen up a little when they're outnumbered.
It's quite the sight when they finally let go and tell their morals to sod off in the face of danger. I've a friend in the city guard, Avaline who's almost the same way. She's usually the first to tell me if I'm straying too far away from being law abiding but occasionally, that doesn't equal doing what is right.
I don't think it's wrong to want to follow the law, really, but when you know the law's wrong you can't hold back from doing something to change it. At least she's a little flexible. That has to count for something.

The latest ones at least. They're a bit like weeds, honestly. If you turn around for long enough they'll pop right back up and in triple the numbers.

It's fine though, we compromised.

If you're sure! You'd probably know how to handle something like that better than me anyway.

I suppose if you count bellowing right back at a fellow when he's trying to be crude...?

You have a tendency to act more than strategize, don't you? [she does not say this like it's bad.]

[ more like she forgets that's important until someone is yelling 'HAWKE, NO!!!!' behind her. as you do ]
I'm a great believer in figuring it out when we get there.

You sound like you'd get along pretty well with a couple of our friends in that case. They're pretty good at figuring it out on the fly.

Oh?? I could always use more people who think on their feet.
